It was the spring of 1997 when TIAAP began. What a wonderful journey so far! In the past ten years the organization has been part of almost 75 programs, world wide. These programs have involved religious, military, and professional organizations; as well as secular and humane venues. The kind of work that has been done, and continues to be done by our officers and members, have far reaching effects. Through lectures, symposium, workshops, article and book publications and the interpersonal one on one and group work our organization and its members, have made wonderful contributions to peace over the last ten years.
Since the inception of this organization the most fundamental form of its expression has been through service to individuals and the greater community. As health care professionals and as teachers, we have been in service to our patients, friends, colleagues and neighbors, as well as, volunteering in various functions of the community at large. |

We have been engaged in expanding the organization’s outreach through our efforts to create curricula which will be presented to diverse religious communities with the intention of promoting interfaith harmony.
Our sisterhood has been engaged in promoting the practice of the Women’s Sacred Circle within the immediate communities. and beyond. If you are interested in the circle experience please contact Michelle at peacewk@peacewk.org
This past fall Dr. Handwerker was invited to be a participant at the B’Hai conference in Michigan. Also during 2007 he was a presenter at a conference in Miami that was sponsored by Oxford University.
In 2008 Dr. Handwerker lectured at the Humanistic Psychology conference held in Boston and also had the opportunity to discuss peace and spirituality at the division 48 peace psychology conference also in Boston.
Over the past ten years Dr. Handwerker has been spearheading a 3000 family effort to promote awareness of resource conservation and recycling.
In addition to the work of ‘Outreach’ some of the officers and members are engaging in a totally unique venue of peace building called “Risk management/prevention”. This is a new area of concern for peace builders that involves venturing forth into the global society in the economic, environmental, political and social systems.
Through the efforts and goals of TIAAP in these areas, we are working to make an impact on how societies and groups of people are aware of and value the environment and the resources in their communities and societies in which they live.
The expansion of consciousness is the ultimate goal of this organization especially in regard to core values, which invites the promotion of human rights and environmental conservation and sustainability. The change of consciousness results in the change of behavior and ultimately the change of what we value as human beings.
To all our members and partners in Peace—Thank you for all that you do for all humanity and the planet!
With Love, In Peace,
Steve and Michelle
